Material description:
Clamshells are made from plastic #1 or PET (polyethylene terephthalate). This material is similar to plastic bottles made out of PET. Unfortunately, they need to be separated in the recycling process because they have different chemical properties, giving each material its purpose.
Please send us an email for more details.
Material description
Plastic #5 or Polypropylene (PP) is found in take-out containers and is used for storing food. These types of containers are resistant to heat and are durable! PP has many similar properties to PET. The main difference is it has a much higher melting point. This makes it useful for holding hot materials, which is why it's often used for food containers.

Material description
Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) is a plastic type commonly used in the packaging industry. BOPP bags are made of the same plastic as PP food containers but can not be mixed to create new recycled plastic. They stand out in strength and stability compared to paper and other commonly used bags. They are puncture resistant and tear-resistant to protect contents. We find them in many industries and use them almost daily! They have a metallic look and can be found in chips, cookies, candies, etc.
This category includes clean and stretchy thin plastics, primarily HDPE (#2) and LDPE (#4). Plastic film is thin and stretchy plastic. It’s commonly found in grocery bags, bubble wrap, ZiplocⓇ bags, dry cleaning bags, and plastic shipping envelopes from online retailers. Other common uses of the plastic film include bread bags, newspaper bags, and bags in grocery store produce sections.
